I start looking for excuses not to continue.
I feel like I'm not worthy… or maybe I'm just scared to change.
No matter how much pain I feel about the things I don't like in my life — the difficulties I create for myself, and the ones shaped by my environment and society — they are familiar. They are part of me. I've gotten used to them.
And what I'm not used to… is the unknown.
Even if what's out there is good — even if I could see the future and know it would be better — I still feel afraid. Because it's not what I know.
It's not what I'm used to.
And that makes me feel insecure.

What's Happening Inside
This freeze is not failure. It's a survival response.
Your system is trying to protect you — from overwhelm, from disappointment, from uncertainty.
But that protection is holding you back from the very life you want to live.
The good news is: you don't have to break through it.
You can walk with it.
A Gentle Way Forward
You don't have to do everything at once.
You don't have to figure it all out.
You only need to take one small step at a time.
Don't overload your plate. Choose just one thing to focus on.
Let yourself feel safe and comfortable with that small new experience first.
Give it time before adding more tasks, solutions, or big plans.
Let your body and heart adjust — slowly, gently — until the new becomes familiar.
Trust that forward is forward, even if it's quiet and slow.
Growth doesn't need to be loud. It just needs to be consistent, kind, and safe.
You are not lazy or broken. You are learning how to feel safe with change.
That's brave. That's healing. And it's enough.
